Mangrovia

Mangrovia is a small settlement located in a mangrove biome at coordinates 6445, 20790.

History

Mangrovia was the first discovered mangrove biome on Colonia, on November 20th, 2022 by jetpackjbd. Mangrove propagules were then brought back to Spawn to share with the community.

In early 2024, griefers joined Colonia while it was unwhitelisted and propagated hundreds of propagules across the towns near (original) spawn. Mangroves are notoriously difficult to cut down and clear, resulting in them covering landscape and buildings for months. Community efforts to chop them down were slow, resulting in a brief period where doFireTick was enabled by Sudofox so that the mangroves could be burned down.

Some of the removed logs from spawn were sold at the Repot by Jetpackjbd, where MidnightxPlayer later bought some in June of 2026. He requested more mangrove logs, prompting Jetpackjbd to log on to Colonia for the first time in over a year to find some.

Jetpackjbd found himself over 50 thousand blocks away from his primary residence, with minimal resources in his inventory. He journeyed through the nether until his rockets ran out, landing only 80 blocks from the portal to Mangrovia.

Jetpackjbd went on to turn Mangrovia from a basic settlement to a camp while gathering resources to bring back home.
