The 2024 Wiki Spam
The 2024 Wiki Spam was an incident where the Colonia Wiki was bombarded by bot accounts generating 50+ new pages and a modified main page with AI-written material regarding unrelated topics from Late December of 2023 through early morning of February 29th, 2024. All posts were taken down and all accounts were banned by J0w03L noon of the 29th. The content of the posts were mostly written as fake news articles on random topics, often with cryptocurrency website links embedded. It is unclear what the purpose of the spam was, as the links appeared to be fake or unrelated to the topics. Many of the hyperlinks were randomly added to articles and titled in a format of buzzword-sexualword (ex: crypto porn).
Jetpackjbd and ButterH2 both modified some of the articles while waiting for them to be removed by a forum moderator. A few screenshots of spam and edits were taken of the posts, however all articles were deleted from the forum.
